Apple Nears Deal With OpenAI To Integrate ChatGPT In iPhone: Report
As part of a larger effort to add artificial intelligence capabilities to its products, Apple Inc. is reportedly nearing an agreement with OpenAI to put the startup’s technology on the iPhone, according to people familiar with the subject, reports Gadget360, citing Bloomberg’s report.
According to the persons, who wished to remain anonymous due to the confidentiality of the matter, the parties have been hammering out the details of an agreement to incorporate ChatGPT functionality into Apple’s upcoming iOS 18, the operating system for iPhones.

Apple has also discussed licensing the Gemini chatbot from Alphabet Inc. with Google. Though they are still underway, those talks have not resulted in an agreement.
As part of a flurry of new AI capabilities that it plans to unveil next month, Apple would be able to offer a well-known chatbot thanks to an OpenAI agreement.

In April, Bloomberg revealed that there had been more intense talks with OpenAI. However, there’s no assurance that an agreement will be revealed soon.
Google, Apple, and OpenAI representatives all declined to comment.
When Apple hosts its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June, the company intends to make a big statement in the artificial intelligence space.
According to Bloomberg, the corporation would deploy data centers with its own in-house processors to power some of its planned artificial intelligence features as part of the drive.
Although he personally utilizes OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Apple CEO Tim Cook said last year that there were “a number of issues that need to be sorted.” He pledged that additional artificial intelligence technologies would be added to Apple devices “very thoughtfully.”
He made this claim during Apple’s earnings conference call last week. Apple would be ahead in AI.
“We have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era, including Apple’s unique combination of seamless hardware, software, and services integration,” Cook stated on the earnings call. “We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI.”
