Key Specs of iQOO Neo7 SE

Design and Build Quality

A budget-friendly to lower mid-range all plastic build phone is obviously a drawback. The Neo7 SE is not much different, either. It looks like glass because of the plastic frame and back’s mixed glossy and matte frosted appearance.

The dimensions of the Neo7 SE are approximately 164.8 x 76.9 x 8.6 mm, and its weight is 193 g. Despite having a big footprint, the construction is rather light. With its recognizable squared shape, the rear camera housing is reminiscent of the Neo7. The front has a small bottom chin and an almost-uniform punch-hole display.

The Neo6 SE’s buttons and ports are identical. The Neo7 SE’s 3.5 mm headphone jack and expandable card storage will be missed by users.

For the budget, the build quality and design are generally acceptable. It fulfills the requirements for a smartphone, which is selling in Singapore between SGD 267 and SGD 337.

Display

The display on the Neo7 SE is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 12 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 1300 nits of peak brightness. The panel has 1080 by 2400 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 388 PPI. The slight bottom chin accounts for an 87.6% screen-to-body ratio.

When the question of performance comes, the Neo7 SE maintains its position. Strong brightness produces excellent contrast both indoors and outdoors. Smooth daily use was made possible by the high refresh rate and excellent viewing angles. Considering the price, it’s hard to go wrong.

Camera

Like its predecessor, the Neo7 SE has a triple camera sensor. Nevertheless, a generic 2 MP f/2.4 macro lens has taken the role of the Neo6 SE’s 8 MP ultrawide lens.

The main camera is the same 64 MP f/1.8 wide angle with PDAF and OIS. There’s an additional 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor on the Neo7 SE.

With a slight oversaturation on the warmer side, the primary camera functions admirably in daylight. Images taken outside and in bright light displayed good details and dynamic range. It’s not revolutionary; rather, it’s what one would anticipate from a mid-range smartphone. Nighttime photos were also able to keep the contrast. But there were noticeable grains and the visuals were noticeably weaker.

The Neo7 SE has a 16 MP front-facing camera for taking selfies. Although iQOO has several built-in beauty elements that might occasionally look fake, it nevertheless captures good details.

The rear sensor is certified for 4K and 1080P videography at 30 frames per second. The OIS produced the videos at a respectable quality. The selfie camera can record at 30 frames per second in 1080P.

Processor and Performance

The Neo7 SE is equipped with a 4 Nm-based Mediatek Dimensity 8200 CPU. In theory, the Dimensity 8200 4nm can be compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. With a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, the octa-core processor features a 1×3.1 GHz Cortex-A78, 3×3.0 GHz Cortex-A78, and 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 chip design. iQOO has upgraded the RAM and internal storage to LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, respectively, in addition to the processor.

There are 8 to 16 GB of RAM available. The internal storage capacity increases to 512 GB from 128 GB.

When together, these all help to smoothly raise the Neo7 SE’s performance. It is rated @ 949.42 by Antutu V10. The strong processor and high refresh rate in the testing resulted in a fluid gaming experience.

On the Neo7 SE, PUBG, Asphalt 9, and Genshin Impact all ran at maximum settings without seeing any frame dips. The device’s tendency to overheat after 30 to 40 minutes of continuous gaming was the only drawback.

Software

Based on Android 13, OriginOS 3 powers the Neo7 SE. The Funtouch OS will be included in the worldwide release. iQOO has given careful thought to the OS’s usability and aesthetics. In general, Funtouch has been free of bloatware. After setup, it is simple to remove any pre-installed software.

The quick processor and high refresh rate display on the Neo7 SE further improve the OS experience. When everything is taken into account, the Neo7 SE offers a very attractive OS bundle.

Battery and Charge Time

The Neo7 SE has a battery capacity of about 5000 mAh. The 120W rapid charger that iQOO has incorporated on board can charge the gadget from 1% to 60% in just 10 minutes.

Verdict

The mid-range iQOO Neo7 SE has a lot of features. The Neo7 SE has earned the distinction of being an inexpensive gaming smartphone when compared to other expensive gaming phones on the market. The smartphone has a strong processor, a fantastic battery life, and an outstanding display. The camera appears to have been downgraded, which is the only negative. Other than that, the Vivo iQOO Neo7 SE is ideal for people wishing to enter the mid-range gaming scene or searching for a strong daily driver.
